I'm Matt Dooley, and I have a long story to tell, broken into small pieces, sometimes in order, and sometimes not as memories continue to surface. At first blush, Life on Appeal would seem rooted in the fallacy that life can be relived. But in the legal world, appeals are often about much more than a do-over; they're an opportunity to set the record straight, to set new standards, and establish precedent for those who follow. With that in mind, Life on Appeal is a chance to share lessons learned by one middle-aged lawyer about career choices, family, and what truly matters in life. My experiences are not cautionary tales, but rather reflections in the spirit of redemption, and the desire to honor the heroes in my life by finally acknowledging my family's selfless sacrifices in the name of my own success, and the toll it has taken.
